Ha ha… can you see my flash (with Honl 1/4 CTO gel) in the last picture?

EDIT: Alright, one more, taken with the GF-1:

    • There are no dumb questions, and why would it be obvious? It’s on an off-camera flash cord, and I am holding it in my left hand, aiming, while my right hand holds the camera.

  1. Oh really… so that is the flash cord you were telling me about yesterday. Need to look into that for my 430Ex2.

So what was your thinking in the photo of Erin — why not shoot flash on? (and underexpose background by 2 stops — see I am listening)

Does lighting by the side give the dramatic effect?

    • Exactly. Straight on is allowed – but it does look a little odd. From 45 degreees above is better when the flash is the predominant light source.

      And yes, you are listening!
