What went wrong?

Yesterday I was shooting art, using a couple of speedlights, driven by Pocketwizards.

Fine. So, what went wrong here?

Answer after the break:

That’s simple: I exceeded the camera’s maximum flash synch speed.

This shutter speed is usually (depending on your camera) around 1/200th second; this shot was taken (accidentally) at 1/500th of a second.

Due to the way the shutter works, after 1/200th second it never fully opens all at once, so you can not use conventional flash.

So I move the cack to 1/160th second and now when I shoot, see this:

Artwork by Karina Lopes, stay tuned for more about her art.
