I moved from my chemical EOS100 to a digital 10D, and your ‘did you see the flash in your finder?’ caught my eye. My 100 (I think it was called a Rebel or something in the USA) used ETTL flash, yet I never ever saw the flash in the v’finder. I see the flash in the 10D’s finder every time, so maybe the 100’s mirror moved earlier / faster than the far smaller 10D’s?

Well it was smaller – but it must have been there- much smaller mirror probably just meant it was harder to discern?
