I am going to guess that it was a softbox, at a height above your head but not too much, that gives the soft shadow under your chin as well as the eye highlights. My second choice would be an umbrella, maybe shoot-through?
Film emulation looks like Kodak Tri-X Pan film.
Tri-X, that is right. My favourite film.
And the modifier? A beauty dish!
A beauty dish, really? It’s not the type of light I would associate with a beauty dish. Very interesting. Thanks for letting me know.
Yup. A beauty dish is a little more specular than a soft box so it leads to a more sculpted look. Generally best use with perfect skin – like young people 🙂
