COVID Self-Portraits, Day 65: Unpacking, Now Back To Netflix.

I drove back from Toronto today.

After a weekend working and seeing family and friends (in socially responsible ways that involved separation, masks, sanitizer etc), it is a shock to go back from that and driving along Highway 7 and Ontario’s beauty to sitting in a room watching Netflix. It leaves me with a deep sense of loss. This is not what life was supposed to be.

How will we adjust to going back—and what kind of “back” will it be? I think we need to hold on to as much as possible of what makes us what we are. And that is more than the bare necessities of food and water.

And that is just one reason I do a daily self-portrait, while this lasts.
